And on the guitar…

The news you’ve been waiting for!  We’ve wrapped up auditions and after an extensive search we’re excited to welcome Ken Sabbar to The Violet Hour.  Formerly of Cedars and the Stars and Dawn of Man, Ken will be bringing his Fender Jaguar and palette of vintage Vox tones to the band.  An accomplished and instinctive musician, he’s enthusiastic to be joining the group and adding his sonic touch to the band’s sound.  Ken also has a synth-based side project called Deadpawn that you can check out here.  Right now we’re in the process of rehearsing songs from our cd as well as writing new material for an upcoming release.  The new songs are really taking shape and we’re excited about the results so far.  We’re hoping to have them ready to perform live in the very near future. Speaking of live performance the festival season will soon be upon us and with it comes the opportunity to get out and enjoy some great music…and what could be better than cruising up to scenic Manitowoc for the must see event of the summer – Ostrichfest!  Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 28th for the the midwest’s premier festival named after a large flightless bird.  We’ll be joining a lineup of great area talent including Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, Vic and Gab and The Belle Weather for the all day all night event.  Visit ostrichfest.com for the complete list of bands as well as the diverse selection of activities (mud football?) available throughout the day. In the meantime be on the lookout for a new song on the site coming soon… Keith   Where...
